When I first wrote that over a decade ago (back in my Communication Stylist® days 👗), I put a lot of emphasis on the words part.

What I was actually doing was helping smart women get honest about what they wanted (+ wanted to say), then trust that enough to do something with it.

Copy was the entry, AUTHORSHIP was the point. ✏️

As a bona fide 40-something, I’ve spent more than half my life studying, teaching, and translating how and why we do what we do (or don't).

STUDYING

B.A. + M.S. in Communication Studies.

Minor in Spanish.

Five years formally studying how and why we communicate the way we do, across personal + professional contexts.

TEACHING

Over 2000 hours teaching public speaking, interpersonal, intercultural, organizational communication, and writing.

Helping people think clearly, communicate effectively, and put their ideas into practice.

Three unforgettable years as an interpretive guide with the NPS at Pearl Harbor.

Translating history and context into stories thousands of international visitors could connect with, helping them appreciate what they might otherwise walk right past.

Nikki Elledge Brown is a creative advisor for brilliant women who love their work, their people, and their alone time. She's who you want in your corner when everything feels important at once.

A former college professor and Pearl Harbor park ranger, Nikki's spent more than 20 years studying how and why we say what we say + do what we do.

Now host of the On Her Terms® podcast, she first made a name for herself online with A Course About Copy® and Naptime Empires®. Her work has been featured in outlets like NBC News, Entrepreneur, and many of the online business world’s most popular podcasts.

The common thread through all of it: making sense of the complex, taking the edge off the intimidating, and never missing a chance to mix metaphors.
