I spent nearly 2,000 hours teaching communication at the college level before switching my focus from serving inspiring students to serving inspiring entrepreneurs. Along the way, I coined the title “Communication Stylist” for myself, because it describes exactly what I do.

I’m a Texas girl who was lucky enough to spend the last 10 years calling Hawaii home.

I’m a writer, a speaker, a recovering perfectionist, former park ranger, milspouse, entrepreneur, mom of two funny, kind, feisty boys, and host of the Naptime Empires™ podcast, refreshingly honest conversations on the realities of parenthood + entrepreneurship.

I launched my own (naptime) empire in 2013, when my oldest was 18 months old — helping entrepreneurs attract their dream clients + customers, serving up tips + behind-the-scenes stories as The Communication Stylist® and creator of A Course About Copy®.

In the time since, said empire has generated well over a million dollars in revenue while enabling me to serve a community of tens of thousands of entrepreneurial humans from all over the planet, which kind of blows my mind.

There’s a WHOLE lot more to that story (+ you can find a good bit of it here), but in short:

I built a business around helping entrepreneurs use their REAL voices online.

Aaaand now I’m ready to switch things up a bit.

I love laughing till I ugly cry, expressing my feelings through carefully selected GIFs, and daydreaming of national parks to visit now that we’re back on the mainland.

I’m in the midst of a Texas-sized transition over here, and although sometimes I wish I could skip to the back of the book + peek at the “what’s happening next??” answer key…

She’s a proud military spouse, mom, former park ranger and college professor who built a multi-six-figure business in under 18 months by helping thousands of entrepreneurs communicate with clarity and confidence. (She later embarked on a super character-building journey in which she considered shutting it all down / running away from the internet after the birth of her second son.)
